What is Vauxess?
Vauxess is a free real-time closed captioning program available on any smartphone or tablet. Available on demand at every performance for all our mainstage productions.
Who benefits?
Any person with hearing loss can now access free closed captioning to enhance their enjoyment of the show. We also provide Assistive Listening Devices and ASL interpretation upon request.
Will it disturb others?
No. Vauxess operates in airplane mode to prevent calls or texts. The screen brightness is extremely low, and our high-contrast dark modes ensure only you can see your device.
How to use the App

Download or Visit
Download the App from the App Store or Google Play store. You can also join via web browser if you prefer not to install an app.
Prepare for Theater Mode
Prepare your phone for theater mode after you take your seat.
- Set your phone to Airplane Mode.
- Select the venue's secure Wi-Fi network.
- To adjust font size and brightness use the settings button on the top left side of the screen.
Connect & Select
- Click Join as Audience.
- Select your Venue.
- The closed captioning will automatically begin with the show.
